Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Colossians 3:11
In the Roman Empire, Scythians (skith’ ee uhns) were the most savage, uncouth kind of barbarians. It’s not that ethnic and social distinctions don’t exist or matter after we become Christians; it’s that they no longer separate us. It’s all about Christ now, and His Spirit dwells in each of us, no matter who we are.
Simply writing out a verse–or typing it out–multiple times can be really helpful. And as you write it out, you may find that writing it a certain way is even more helpful.
I notice that verse 11 comes in pairs.
Here there
is no
Gentile or Jew,
circumcised or uncircumcised,
barbarian, Scythian,
slave or free,
but Christ is all, and is in all.
